About Nineteen

Made in Quebec by a young sewing enthusiast, Dix-neuf's coin purses, backpacks, and satchels are crafted from cork and cotton. The company's mission is to offer durable, high-quality bags, handmade locally with more eco-friendly materials, while also featuring innovative and appealing patterns and designs.

  • Cork

Cork is an eco-friendly alternative to leather. It is natural, renewable, vegan and PETA-certified. Cork is peeled from the tree by experienced workers. The same tree can be peeled every 9 years until it is 300 years old!

  • How do I clean my bag?

With water and mild soap, cork can be restored to its original luster. For fabric, use a quick-cleaning stick for stubborn stains, and water and mild soap for the rest.

  • Is cork durable?

Cork is as resistant as animal leather. It is waterproof, naturally antibacterial and mold-resistant. It has been stain-treated (Scotch Guard) and received UV and abrasion treatments. The material has also passed laboratory tests for abrasion (Martindale test), UV rays, and fire.
